A major theme on this album is my dealing with the concepts of time, adulthood, and reflecting on what my life looks like as an artist in my early 30s (hint: it looks NOTHING like I thought it would!) These are things that we all struggle with but are so rarely discussed in music. About a year ago, I went on a ferry ride to Staten Island to get some writing done and I saw a really cute baby on the seat next to me. She inspired me to write a letter from me to the daughter I will someday have but haven't had yet because of my musicl pursuits. The track was produced by Deto-22, who completely killed the remix to “OD Love” that he did on my "Come Again" EP in 2013. He was one of the first people I hit up when I began working on The Free Way because of how magical our creative chemistry has been since that first collaboration. I knew this song had to be last on the album because there's not much you can do to follow such intense subject matter and I wanted to leave my listeners with something deep to ponder on.
